Why do we do it? Great question! We host the Brooksville BBQ so people can have a once-a-year event where family friends kids and grandkids can all join in with NO COST win prizes listen to music bounce around and socialize with each other. We make sure that you get to have a great time and to do that we have our amazing teams of volunteers who help set up tear down and do it again next year! Without them, NONE of this would be possible!

Bring in The Smoke

Barbeque IT IS a noun, not a verb. You do not barbecue meat; you smoke it until it becomes barbecue. And it is not a meal so much as a meditative process, perched somewhere between science and art, dependent on reserves of judgment.
The science lies in building a fire that will smolder steadily without flaring, and in constructing a vessel that will bathe the meat in smoke without subjecting it to too much heat.
The judgment comes in knowing precisely when a cooking process that may last as long as 18 or 25 hours should end. Barbecue is the art of turning tough cuts tender (“Need no teef to eat my beef” is a popular boast among smoke masters).
None of these facts broke disagreement, but here the unity ends.
